System One has an immediate need for a Senior Structural Engineer. This long-term contract position will be responsible for working with other engineers and designers to prepare design change packages for modifications at operating nuclear plants.
Responsibilities :
- Conduct field walkdowns to determine existing configuration of plant structures / systems / components.
- Prepare scoping documents to determine extent of modifications required.
- Prepare cost estimates for engineering / design activities.
- Prepare design documents including drawings, specifications and calculations.
- Lead design review meetings and address customer comments on design documents / deliverables.
Minimum Qualifications :
- Must be proficient in preparation of engineering change packages (EC’s), with knowledge of Standard Design Process.
- BS degree from an accredited university mechanical engineering preferred.
- Minimum 8 years experience in design of modifications in commercial nuclear plants.
- Must be able to demonstrate adaptability; must be proficient in identifying, troubleshooting, and resolving issues within a nuclear power plant environment.
- PE registration and experience supporting Entergy Nuclear are preferred.
- Position can be hybrid remote or remote from office, must be able to travel to plant sites when needed.
- Must be able to obtain unescorted access at an operating nuclear plant.
- Position requires excellent communication skills and ability to interface with customers.
