Position Specific Responsibilities The Child Development Center is seeking a dependable and caring Preschool Teacher for a classroom of around 9 children.
The ideal candidate will be responsible, nurturing, fun, vibrant, and flexible as they interact with preschool students, parents, and co-workers.
The Preschool Teacher will oversee all aspects of the classroom including supervision of assistants and children, educational plans, assessments, in-service, and parental communication.

Responsible for all aspects of the classroom environment including but not limited to lesson planning, teaching, discipline, recreation both indoors and outdoors, safety and security.
Essential Functions
Maintains positive licensure compliance in the assigned classroom in keeping with applicable state regulations. Provides supervision and classroom leadership for the general welfare and individual needs of enrolled children, their families, and all staff working in the classroom.
Provides quality child care and education services and appropriate parent involvement activities.
Participates with the Director in the overall planning and implementation of developmentally appropriate daily and individual-child lesson plans, behavior management and classroom activities.
Reviews staff schedules for classroom to ensure the required adult to child ratios. Provides specific direction to student assistants regarding assigned responsibilities, expectations, and duties including classroom cleaning, participation in meals and snacks, and participation and interaction with the children and planned activities.
Supervises the scheduled attendance of each child and reports any changes. Maintains daily verbal contact with parents.
Communicates the organizational philosophy and goals to visitors, and other community programs and organizations.

Requirements Minimum Education
Associate’s degree in early childhood or related field by hire date
Preferred Education Minimum Experience
One (1) year of experience in licensed child care facility working with infants
Preferred Experience Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work cohesively with customers and coworkers with dissimilar values, traditions and lifestyles
- Empathetic to children’s needs and parent concerns
- Ability to recognize and execute safety precautions appropriate to the care of children birth-age 6
- Ability to multi-task, show restraint, and be patient with children birth-age 6

Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and First Aid Training
Child Abuse and Neglect Training with Head Trauma
