The opportunity : Reporting to the Director, Compensation, the Senior Compensation Consultant will support Sun Life US by providing senior level analytical expertise for compensation initiatives in support of Total Rewards, Human Resources, and enterprise strategies. How you will contribute :
- Develop partnerships with HR Business Partners and provide ongoing comprehensive support for compensation programs and business initiatives, including the annual performance cycle
- Act as a project manager for mid-sized compensation projects and work streams. Consult with internal partners to develop, implement and support programs, processes and tools that drive effective employee, leader, and business partner experiences related to compensation
- Participate in HR Business Partner / Management discussions to understand client group goals and provide corresponding compensation and job evaluation support at multiple levels and degrees of complexity
- Provide senior level analytical expertise through modeling and advanced analytics to develop and support data-driven compensation recommendations
- Analyze the market competitiveness of Sun Life compensation programs and perform complex research, analysis and delivery of findings to HR Business Partners and business leaders
- Draw upon a variety of sources to understand industry developments and trends, including internal and external compensation design, practices and policies
- Develop compelling and clear written and verbal presentations to support compensation initiatives
- Handle complex inquiries from HR partners
What you will bring with you :
- 6+ years of related experience
- Bachelor’s degree; completion or progress toward CCP designation preferable
- Strong knowledge of compensation practices and theory
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and spreadsheet analysis
- Exceptional analytical, problem solving and financial modeling skills, with an eye for detail, accuracy and continuous improvement
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and consulting skills including incorporating different perspectives, backgrounds and styles
- Ability to take initiative, work independently and proactively solve problems and identify ways to improve work processes and practices
- Strong project management and planning skills
- Proven ability to build effective partnerships and jointly find solutions
- Strong presentation skills and ability to communicate complex concepts in simple terms
- Solid knowledge and understanding of HR programs and connections

If you are a California resident, the salary range for this position is :
Southern region : $84,200 - $126,300 annually
Central region : $88,700 - $133,100 annually
Northern region : $94,800 - $142,200 annually
If you are a Minnesota, Colorado or Nevada resident, the salary range for this position is $80,300 - $120,500annually.
If you are a Connecticut or Maryland resident, the salary range for this position is $84,200 - $126,300 annually
If you are a New York resident, the salary range for this position is $94,800 - $142,420annually.
If you are Washington or Rhode Island resident, the salary range for this position is $88,700 - $133,100 annually.
