Job Overview :

The Communities and Advisor Diversity and Inclusion (ADI) team is laser focused enabling communities across roles in the LPL ecosystem and ensuring LPL is the destination of choice for underrepresented advisors.

For Advisor Diversity and Inclusion, our strategy and execution framework is clearly defined into three unique pillars, aligned with the firm's overall strategic imperatives : Include, Grow and Attract.

Community Managers are the backbone of this strategy; they are the business leaders who bring this strategy to life and activate the advisors in each community to take action and engage.

Over the last year, the team has evolved their newest segment of community management - business based communities - connecting peers in similar roles for connecting, sharing their questions and learnings so they can thrive in their businesses.

The ideal Community Manager is a mixture of strategic and operation excellence : a strategic mind, capable of assessing needs and thinking through solutions all the way to execution.

This role can be based out of San Diego, Tempe, or Fort Mill, SC.

Our team brings LPL clients (advisors as well as office support staff) together in intentional community settings, whether in-person at existing LPL client conferences or through leveraging the new LPL Community Hub (digital community platform).

A cohesive community segment strategy will include thoughtful audience research, insights and relevant data points, knowledge of the community's emergent and long-term needs, and an execution path to provide tools in satisfaction of those needs.

As a Community Manager, your work is focused on the execution of three primary pillars : Inclusion, Growth and Attract. You will be the driving force behind Inclusion and Growth for your community, and will partner across the firm for Attract as appropriate.

The right candidate will bring an unwavering commitment to the advisor experience, a strong sense of responsibility / accountable for deliverables, ability to create relationships and build a network across the firm, and drive measurable growth in communities.

Responsibilities :

Own the development, optimization, and execution of Community Strategy for at least one (maybe multiple) of the major ADI Communities : Women, Black Advisors, Hispanic & Latino, Asian American Pacific Islander or Pride, and / or business community : Admins and Office Professionals, New to Industry, Next Gen or others as developed.

This role will be measured by the success of programs launched and business growth and retention of the community base.

  • Partner with other Community leadership to design strategies, tactics and unique pilot ideas to empower advisors within your community to grow their practice.
  • Support the launch and day-to-day operations of the Community footprint on the LPL Community Hub, partnering closely with the Digital Product team to optimize user experience and review listening reports for feedback for implementation.
  • Serve as the face of the community internally and externally; requires strong public engagement and speaking skills to command the attention of several hundred and have the ability to influence and facilitate productive business-oriented outcomes.
  • Leverage relationships across LPL to build advocates and garner support for firm-wide initiatives and projects.
  • Develop a measurement framework and reporting capabilities to track efficacy of activities.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of changes to the LPL client experience and understand implications to new policies and impact within the community.
  • Participate in and lead Critical Thinking Groups as relevant.
  • Operationally, work as a self-starter, able to prioritize your own workload and push back on requests as necessary.
  • Must possess strong execution skills, with an ability to multitask and balance multiple projects at once, producing high quality results.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of professional experience in strategy, marketing or communications roles
  • 2+ years of experience working directly with financial advisors

Core Competencies :

  • Strong personal commitment to the cause of diversity, equity and inclusion
  • Experience managing multiple major initiatives simultaneously, with the ability to shift priorities as needed
  • Working knowledge of the financial services industry
  • Familiarity with digital communications platforms, experience with digital community management / strategy a plus
  • Ability to engage virtually as well as in-person; team will be split across remote and home office locations
  • Engaging demeanor and highly effective in both written and verbal communication - you will act as the face of this community to both internal and external audiences
  • Professional demeanor and high degree of confidentiality and discretion
  • Ability to communicate complicated ideas simply with a lens for an executive audience, in both written and verbal communications

Preferences :

  • SIE or SIFMA licenses, past experience working with a financial advisor, or experience in engaging large groups of advisors
  • Understanding of community best practices, industry trends, and strategic initiatives in growing a community
  • Ability to identify and track relevant community metrics
  • Experience with community initiatives (e.g. creating an event series, writing a newsletter, launching a community engagement program)

Pay Range :

$102,000-$153,000 / year

Actual base salary varies based on factors, including but not limited to, relevant skill, prior experience, education, base salary of internal peers, demonstrated performance, and geographic location.
