Pathology Assistant

Join our dynamic Pathology Department where you will play a vital role in enhancing the efficiency of laboratory services while ensuring high-quality patient care. As a Pathology Assistant, you will primarily focus on the gross examination of surgical pathology specimens and oversee the autopsy service, making a significant impact on our operations.

In this leadership position, you will :

• Conduct detailed descriptions and examinations of surgical specimens to prepare them for histological processing.
• Assist and educate Residents and technical staff in gross dissection techniques and best practices.
• Manage the daily operations of the morgue, adhering to patient care needs and regulatory standards.
• Play a key role in the autopsy service, exercising independent judgment and collaborating with laboratory directors on technical and administrative decisions.
• Oversee project management and budget development, manage supplies and resources, and handle staffing matters, including hiring and competency assessments.

Working closely with a pathologist, you will engage in all facets of anatomic pathology, participate in seminars, and provide training for Residents and medical students in autopsy and surgical pathology protocols.

Qualifications :

Prior experience in a healthcare laboratory performing intraoperative frozen sections, gross dissection, and the dictation of surgical pathology specimens and autopsies is essential.
