Job Opportunity : Early Intervention Specialist at Shiawassee Regional ESD
Position Overview :
Shiawassee Regional ESD in Corunna, MI, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Early Intervention Specialist to join our team on a contract basis.

Key Responsibilities :
- Early Intervention Services : Provide comprehensive early intervention services to children aged birth to three, focusing on developmental milestones and individualized support plans.
- Assessment and Evaluation : Conduct developmental assessments to identify the needs of each child and create tailored intervention plans.
Monitor and document progress regularly.
Feeding Experience : Utilize specialized skills in feeding techniques and interventions to support children with feeding difficulties.
Collaborate with families and other professionals to ensure effective feeding strategies.
Family Collaboration : Work closely with families to provide education, support, and resources that empower them to contribute to their child's development.
Conduct home visits and family consultations as needed.
- Team Collaboration : Participate in team planning and meetings, especially on Tuesdays and Fridays. Collaborate with fellow educators, therapists, and staff to ensure a cohesive approach to early intervention services.
- Documentation : Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of services provided, assessments conducted, and progress made.
Ensure compliance with all regulatory and programmatic requirements.
Qualifications :
- Education : Bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education, Special Education, Speech-Language Pathology, Occupational Therapy, or a related field. Masters degree preferred.
- Certification : Relevant state certification or licensure in early childhood education or a related discipline.
- Experience : Previous experience in early intervention, school-based services, and feeding interventions is highly preferred.
Proven ability to work with children from birth to three years old and their families.
Skills : Strong assessment and intervention skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.
Work Schedule :
- Full-Time Contract : 8 : 00 AM to 4 : 00 PM.
- Dates Needed : July 17, 2024, to October 31, 2024, with summer billing opportunities.
- Schedule : 4 days per week, ideally available on Tuesdays and Fridays for team planning meetings.
- Hours : 30 hours per week up to August 30, then 40 hours per week until October 31.
