Chipton-Ross is seeking a Buyer 1 for a contract opportunity in Newport News, VA.

RESPONSIBILITIES :

Applies standard purchasing / procurement methodology to indirect spend categories to achieve organizational objectives, best value for the enterprise, and achievement of target return on investments (ROI).

Works very closely with internal clients to : identify sourcing needs; conduct buy / market profiles; define acceptable service levels.

Develops sourcing strategies; solicits / analyzes request for proposals; negotiates contracts and coordinates supplier integration plan with internal client.

Establishes a supplier relationship management process with continuous improvement goals / programs. Monitors market dynamics and communicates changes that affect internal client needs.

Knowledge

Use and / or application of principles, theories, and concepts. Knowledge of industry practices and standards. Demonstrates the skill and ability to perform professional tasks.

Problem Solving :

Develops solutions to a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity

Discretion / Latitude :

Works under only very general supervision. Work is reviewed for soundness of judgment and overall adequacy and accuracy.

Impact :

Contributes to the completion of organizational projects and goals. Errors in judgment or failure to achieve results would normally be detected in supervisory oversight.

Liaison :

Frequent internal company contacts. Contacts are primarily with immediate supervisor, and other personnel in the section or group.

Represents section or group on specific projects.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE :

Bachelor's in Business or Finance. Excel acumen, customer service oriented

Required PPE Ear Muffs, Hard Hat, Safety Glasses, Steel Toe Boots

EDUCATION :

Bachelor's in Business or Finance.

School must be accredited.

HOURS : 5 / 40 workweek. 1st shift. 6 : 00 AM - 2 : 30 PM Must be on site for first 4 weeks of training with a potential to work from home up to two days per week.

WFH is scheduled to ensure individuals are on site to support and there is equitable days worked remote. Must be able to get to jobsite on demand, within 2 hours if WFH.
