About the role

The Senior Operations Manager is a highly visible and critical role within a large single distribution operation.; This position leads a team of Manager, Supervisors, Leads, Associates by managing the overall safety, quality, productivity, performance, and customer experience of either Inbound or Outbound operations from picking to delivery.

Responsibilities

• Delivers performance evaluations for direct reports and oversees performance evaluations for entire organization in Clifton
• Delivers warehouse operational objectives by contributing warehouse operations information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews;
• preparing and completing action plans; implementing productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems; completing audits;
• Assists in monitoring of KPIs to measure efficiency and hold the operation accountable to achieving budgeted productivity targets.
• Comply with federal, state, and local warehousing, material handling, and shipping requirements by understanding and studying existing and new legislation;

enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions

• Develop team to solve day-to-day operational issues and reach short- and long-term performance goals
• Builds people capability through effective employee relations, hiring, training, and communication for front-line hourly and salaried personnel
• Must be willing and able to handle exposure to temperatures and range from freezing to sub-freezing (coolers, freezers, etc.)

Qualifications

• 7 to 10 years of Sr. Operations management experience in warehouse / retail setting
• Bachelor's Degree in Business or related fields
• Experience in warehouse safety programs and OHSA compliance to ensure a safe work environment for all associates and managers
• Great leadership, organizational, and communication skills; ability to inspire staff and peers
• Lean or Six Sigma Certifications a plus
• Bilingual in Spanish is a huge plus
• Strong computer proficiency in MS Office applications
• Experience with WMS and TMS software applications
• Must be able to work various shifts of a 24 / 7 operation
