Position Summary
The public sector enabling capabilities organization (ECO) consists of six functions that supports Huron at the enterprise level : sales operations, sales enablement, government and policy relations, contracts management, engagement management and engagement assurance.
As part of ECO, sales enablement partners with sellers and business units to review, write, manage, and develop content for proposals with the objective of winning new business.
This position is accountable for working across Huron business units, sales teams, and contributors on the response team to develop and manage multiple proposals simultaneously.
This includes establishing a proposal schedule, facilitating color team review calls, advising participants on responsive and compliant bids, managing all parties to meet deadlines, and escalating risks / barriers as appropriate.
Success is measured from feedback from internal customers, the timeliness of proposal turnaround, as well as the success rate of our proposals in the market.
Qualifications
- Leads project management to support the preparation of multiple proposals simultaneously by developing the overall proposal schedule, compliance matrix, and proposal plan, managing all key stakeholders and contributors, facilitating necessary meetings, gathering and writing supporting content, and communicating project status and risks.
- Follow and enforce best-practices for proposal development to provide direction to the pursuit team.
- Responsible for supporting and primary writing and control of the end-to-end proposal production process.
- Influence and guide the activities of stakeholders to define proposal-specific deliverables, and milestones.
- Interview subject matter experts (SMEs) and contribute to strategy of solution through quality assurance.
- Facilitate project status meetings including, but not limited to color team calls and SME interviews.
- Maintain, manage, and execute standardized and repeatable proposal processes and best practices.
- Participate in continuous process improvement by incorporating proposal management best practices into proposal infrastructure.
- Facilitate proposal approval, sign-off, and delivery to the client by RFP deadline.
- Clearly communicate expectations and best practices to team members and stakeholders.
- Perform risk management to minimize proposal risks.
- Maintain real-time development status of all proposal text and graphics.
- Contribute to management and organization of proposal content and content management repository.
- Remain current with the company’s solutions, products, and messaging to ensure the company’s competitive advantage is clearly communicated and understood in client-facing materials.
Qualifications
This position requires excellent written and oral communication skills and government proposal management experience. This individual must be deadline and detail oriented, influence key stakeholders toward a desired outcome, and maintain market knowledge.
In addition, this individual should understand win themes, proposal concepts, and the business development lifecycle.
Technical Knowledge, Skills, Abilities (KSAs) And Background
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience managing, writing, and coordinating federal and / or state and local government proposals is required.
- Understands Huron’s core services and capabilities and informs future deliverables and products for federal or state and local government market.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams).
- Self-starter with high tolerance for ambiguity.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with individuals of varying work styles from every level of an organization.
- Command of English writing rules and styles; includes the ability to research and synthesize information from multiple sources (e.
g., subject matter experts, previous proposals, case studies, etc.) into a cohesive, easy-to-read, and persuasive final product.
- Work independently on multiple, sometimes large and complex writing assignments with tight deadlines with minimal supervision.
- Delivers effective written communications that are concise, informative, and provoke action from recipients with the bottom-line up front.
- Remains current with Huron’s solutions, products, and messaging to ensure Huron’s competitive advantage is clearly communicated and understood in client-facing materials.
- Shipley Proposal Management / Proposal Writing training preferred.
APMP Certification preferred.
The estimated base salary range for this job is $75,000 - $103,000. The range represents a good faith estimate of the range that Huron reasonably expects to pay for this job at the time of the job posting.
The actual salary paid to an individual will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to specific skills or certifications, years of experience, market changes, and required travel.
This job is also eligible to participate in Huron’s annual incentive compensation program, which reflects Huron’s pay for performance philosophy.
Inclusive of annual incentive compensation opportunity, the total estimated compensation range for this job is $84,000 - $121,540.
The job is also eligible to participate in Huron’s benefit plans which include medical, dental and vision coverage and other wellness programs.
The salary range information provided is in accordance with applicable state and local laws regarding salary transparency that are currently in effect and may be implemented in the future.
