About The Position
- Job Title : Registered Nurse Job Specialty : Step Down Job Duration : 13 weeks (with options to extend to 26 weeks) Shift : Night 3x12-Hour (7 : 00 PM - 7 : 30 AM) Guaranteed Hours : Not specified Experience : Minimum of 2 years required License : Valid State License required at time of submission Certifications : BCLS and ACLS required;
- NIH preferred Must-Have : 2 supervisory references covering one year of employment within the last three years in a comparable specialty / setting Job Description : Work in a Clinical Decision "Observation" Unit- Patient care includes observation, general medical, post-op PCI, post-op general and gynecological surgery, short-stay inpatient, and extended outpatient stays- Treat conditions such as GI bleed, SBO, ESRD, CHF, COPD, chronic bi-pap / C-pap, and stable CIWA- Maintain patient ratios of 1 : 6 during night shifts- Limited exposure to isolation patients;
no chemo, peritoneal dialysis, acute bi-pap, hemodynamically unstable pre-op, or post-op requiring stepdown care- Floating between various similar units is required, within skill set- Utilize EPIC for charting- Work every other weekend- Flexibility to cover three out of five key holidays- Completion of non-billable modules, averaging 16 hours, pre-start and annually- Participate in 40 hours of orientationAll individuals applying must be prepared to float between like units and have a flexible schedule that accommodates required holidays.
Orientation and completion of necessary training modules are essential prerequisites for this role.
