Job Details

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of the annual budget and periodic forecasts, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Prepare and present financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, to senior management.
• Oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local financial and legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions.
• Assist in the development of financial strategies and plans to support the company's growth and profitability goals.
• Coordinate and lead the annual audit process, liaise with external auditors and manage financial risk.
• Work closely with the Controller to manage and improve financial systems and processes.
• Supervise and mentor junior members of the finance team, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is required. An advanced degree or professional certification (CPA, CMA, etc.) is preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within the construction industry.
• Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial reporting.
• Proven experience with annual budgeting and forecasting.
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to identify financial risks and opportunities.
• Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to mentor and motivate a team.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present financial information in a clear and concise manner.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced Excel skills. Experience with accounting software and systems is also required.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
• High level of integrity and dependability, with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
