Summary
ASM Global, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities has an excellent and immediate opening for an Engineer 1 at the ASM GLOBAL Broward County Convention Center.
This position reports to the Director of Facilities and provides supervision and guidance while troubleshooting and resolving maintenance problems.
Maintains all facility equipment in good working condition, including HVAC, plumbing and electrical plants; lighting and climate control systems;
roofing systems; ground support equipment, and maintenance equipment. Maintains and operate the physical plant, protecting its assets while ensuring the successful production of events.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Education and / or Experience
- HS Diploma or equivalent.
- Graduate of an accredited technical school with specialized training in HVAC and / or maintenance.
- Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in maintenance and repair of HVAC in an industrial or commercial setting preferred.
- Minimum of three years' experience in the operation and maintenance of a public assembly, hotel, or other commercial facility.
- Minimum of two years supervisory experience.
- EPA universal and small appliance certification.
- Experience in operating a forklift and aerial lift preferred, but willing to train.
Qualifications
- Working knowledge of major facility systems such as HVAC, electrical, security, mechanical and fire safety.
- Ability to plan, organize, direct, and motivate the activities of maintenance staff.
- Working knowledge of computer-controlled systems.
- Ability to communicate on a technical level as needed to maintain facility operating systems.
- Proficient computer skills to operate BMS / other automated systems.
- Ability to communicate on a technical level as needed to maintain facility operating systems.
- Must have ability to possess and maintain current OSHA Forklift and Personnel Lift Certification

Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to walk extensively, occasionally required to kneel, climb to high walkways or balance.
The employee must occasionally lift and / or move up to 75 pounds. Ability to use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms.
This position requires work inside and outside of the building and some exposure to adverse conditions.
