• Competency in pediatric dosage calculations
• Experience with respiratory care for pediatric patients

Description :

Seeking a Pediatric Acute Registered Nurse for an acute pediatric unit.

This position involves caring for patients aged from 2 days to 21 years old.

The unit services all types of medical and surgical patients, including trauma cases.

Winter months may see a higher patient census due to respiratory illnesses.

The nurse will be expected to float to general pediatric and pediatric hematology / oncology units as needed.

Typical patient assignments may include those in sickle cell crisis or awaiting chemotherapy treatments.

The work environment includes interdisciplinary support from various clinical services.

The nurse will be part of a teaching hospital, supporting student nurses and residents.

Weekend shifts every other week are required, with shifts on Saturday and Sunday.

Candidates will float within the hospital based on patient census and unit needs.

No transplants or ventilated patients are present in this unit.

Critical care patients, such as those needing heart surgery, will typically be cared for in a different unit.

A reference from within the last two years is required.
