Education

Minimum : Bachelors degree in Health Information Technology, Healthcare Management, Healthcare

Business Informatics, Allied Health, or related field of study.

Experience

Minimum : Two years working in a healthcare environment. IT experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred : Two years teaching experience, preferably at a community college.

Position Description

Essential Functions :

Under the supervision of the Department Head, the Instructor plans and implements educational activities to ensure that student learning outcomes are consistent with program learning outcomes and the mission of the College.

The Instructor participates in ongoing professional development and campus activities and fulfills committee and quality enhancement responsibilities.

The Instructor ensures continuous improvement of instruction by means of ongoing program assessment.

Examples of Duties :

Teach assigned classes

o Create an effective learning environment

o Meet classes as assigned

o Present instruction based on the student learning outcomes and performance levels of the

course

o Use teaching methods designed for a variety of learning styles

o Use course text, outlines, syllabi and other curriculum materials in accordance with college and

departmental guidelines

o Assist with maintaining a classroom environment emphasizing safety, good housekeeping, and

equipment security

o Complete and submit on time all required instructional and administrative reports and records

o Assist in enforcement of policies and regulations applicable to students and initiate student

alerts when necessary

o Perform other duties as assigned by the Department Head, Division Chair, Dean of Curriculum

Programs, and VP of Academic Affairs.

Keep accurate records

o Maintain accurate attendance and scholastic records of students

o Maintain current knowledge of programs, trends, and new developments in area of expertise

o Ensure educational program quality by engaging in continuous improvement through

assessment of student learning outcomes

o Contribute to the Colleges Quality Enhancement Plan.

Other adjunct assignments

o Participate in communications with the college and department

o Meet deadlines as required

o Submit required reports

o Participate in the college's assessment process as required

o Fulfill all contract provisions

o Maintain a high level of professionalism as a representative of the college.
