Position Overview :
The DWD seeks an Administrative Assistant for the Office of the Commissioner. This role provides direct support to an executive administrator and requires discretion in executing agency policies.
Key Responsibilities :
- Provide administrative support to an executive administrator.
- Collaborate with agency / state personnel, legislators, and the public on various issues.
- Prepare administrative rules and procedures for the executive and / or board.
- Review practices for potential workflow or expenditure improvements.
- Manage office services, including records, finances, budget preparation, and personnel issues.
- Organize the executive's schedule and travel arrangements.
- Some duties may allow for remote work based on operational needs.
Qualifications :
- Education & Experience :
- Master's degree with 3+ years of experience, or
- Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of experience, or
- Associate's degree with 7+ years of experience, or
- At least 8 years of relevant experience, including 2 years in an administrative or supervisory role. Related certifications may be considered.
Required Skills :
- 8 years of experience as an executive / senior administrative assistant, including 2 years in a managerial capacity.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.
- High level of confidentiality.
- Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience in developing department processes, policies, and procedures.
- Prior government program experience is highly desired.
