Engineering Lead - DC Colo - remote / hybrid - Denver, CO

This opportunity is working directly with an emerging mission-critical data center developer / colo provider that has an eye for leveraging alternative power sources.

This company provides data center solutions custom-fit to the requirements of their client's ever-changing mission-critical facility's operational needs.

They accomplish this by providing reliability of mission-critical facilities for the world's largest organizations (Hyperscale and Enterprise Customers).

This challenging and unique role will involve managing the design of critical power systems for their new data center and expansion as they continue to design additional data centers.

The ideal candidate will have past experience designing electrical power systems and mechanical cooling systems specifically for data centers.

They will have experience and in-depth knowledge of Electrical Power Distribution System design and installation. Previous experience with electrical equipment design to include Generators, UPS systems and electrical switchgear is a must.

They will also need mechanical cooling systems design, controls, energy storage microgrids, and solar. You will help lead the design team and working / communicating with all the trades, internal customers, external vendors including construction and stakeholders involved in all projects.

Working and communicating with internal team and clients effectively is a must.

Responsibilities :

  • Manage / Lead Design projects, create designs and plans, provided and gather specifications, and execute assignments in a multidisciplinary MEP design role for small to medium sized data center facility design projects.
  • Create Conceptual Designs gathered from meetings
  • Oversee Commissioning Process as needed
  • Work with Management to respond to RFPs
  • Establish project objectives, policies, procedures and performance standards within boundaries of company policies Put these in clear concise work statement for the field
  • Represent the company in project meetings as needed

Qualifications :

  • 8-15 years experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or similar engineering degree
  • Licensed PE / EIT a Plus
  • Previous experience using / reviewing : Revit MEP projects, AutoCAD MEP, BIM a plus
  • Experience with Electrical Systems such as UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply), Generators, Switchgears, and Batteries a MUST
  • Experience with Mechanical Cooling Systems such as CRAC, CRAH, Air Handlers, Chillers, etc. a plus
  • Experience with Automation / Controls
  • Solar / energy storage systems, microgrids a huge plus
  • Experience working on complex data center / mission critical facilities design projects a must
  • Ability to successfully work independently
  • Self Starter, self motivated, and should prioritize well
  • Previous experience in the Military / Military Veterans a huge plus! Experience with Electrical / Mechanical : Navy nukes - EMN, ETN, MMNs, Seabees, Army - Power Generation, Air Force Power Production, Generator Techs, Maritime, Coast Guard, Army National Guard, etc.
  • Open to 30% travel to the site / 70% remote / hybrid / work from home
