Duties Description The New York State Office of Mental Health (OMH) is recruiting to fill an Administrative Assistant 1, Grade 11 / Administrative Assistant Trainee, NS, position assigned to the Central Office.
Specific duties to be performed may include, but are not limited to the following :
- Interacting in person, by phone, mail, and e-mail with a variety of individuals concerning Bureau activities and projects.
- Receiving, reviewing, and distributing incoming mail.
- Answering routine telephone calls and inquiries.
- Type correspondence and other documents.
- Forwarding or recording telephone calls to appropriate staff and screen visitors.
- Using various computer applications to prepare documents and reports and track data / processes as requested.
- Preparing a variety of reports, documents, spreadsheets, and correspondence using Word, Excel, and PowerPoint software.
- Maintaining paper and electronic filing systems.
