Summary & Objective
The Dietitian, Registered is responsible for the nutritional care and education of all patients / residents in accordance with current applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines and regulations, our established policies and procedures, through physician / nurse referral.
Essential Functions
- Reviews the dietary requirements of each patient / resident, as required, and assist the attending physician in planning for the patients / residents prescribed diet plan.
- Ensure that all-interdisciplinary notes charted are informative and descriptive of the services provided and of the patients / resident's response to the services.
- Participates in discharge planning, development and implementation of patient care plans, patient assessments, etc., as required.
- Involves the patient and family in planning objectives and goals for the patient.
- Plans normal and special diet menus as prescribed by the attending physician
- Evaluate and ensure accuracy in the preparation of documentation.
- Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the position.
Other Duties
- Provide information and other relevant updates audibly to patients, care givers and interdisciplinary team members as necessary.
- Develop and participate in programs designed for in-service education, on-the-job training and orientation classes for newly hired personnel.
- Respect and maximize team effort through interactions with both clinical sand support staff.
- Positively interfaces with patient care teams and works in positive collaboration with interdisciplinary team.
- Maintain your required licenses, certifications and mandatory skill updates.
- Comply with all policies, local, state and federal laws and regulations.
- Provide other duties of healthcare team member
- Perform other duties as assigned
Supervisory Responsibility
May serve as an interim department leader depending on need

Requirements :
Knowledge & Experience Requirements
- Current State of Florida license as a dietitian.
- Registration or eligibility with the CDR of the American Dietetic Association.
- BS in clinical dietetics or foods / nutrition; plus, one-year internship or equivalent, or master's degree required.
- Minimum of one-year clinical dietetics experience preferred.
- Skilled Nursing and IRF experience preferred.
- Must be able to provide own transportation to various locations in service areas, as required by duties
- Must have knowledge of computer office / clinical software.
- Must be able to read, write and understand the English language.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to lift and / or move up to 50 pounds and push / pull up to 250+ pounds, walk, climb stair or ladders, stand on feet for extended periods of time, etc.
