This Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist (DRT), Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) position is assigned to Diagnostic Imaging at Madison, WI VHA.
One Vacancy Open. Applicants that apply who don't meet the requirements for GS10 may be selected for a GS06 - GS08. The full performance level of this vacancy is GS-10.
BASIC REQUIREMENTS :
- United States Citizenship : Non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.
- English Language Proficiency : DRTs must be proficient in spoken and written English as required by 38 U.S.C. 7402(d), and 7407(d).
- Certification : Completion of a full-time training course of at least 24 months duration in a post-high school diagnostic radiologic technology program, accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) or from schools accredited by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and certification by the ARRT in MRI (Documentation must be provided).
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE :
Experience requirements vary by grade level :
- GS-6 : One year of experience equivalent to GS-5, performing routine examinations and explaining exams to patients.
- GS-7 : One year of experience equivalent to GS-6, performing a full range of duties with guidance for complex issues.
- GS-8 : One year of experience equivalent to GS-7, providing services in specialized areas of radiologic technology.
- GS-9 : One year of experience equivalent to GS-8, functioning independently with advanced DRT tasks.
- GS-10 : One year of experience equivalent to GS-9, requiring specialized knowledge in MRI and advanced imaging techniques.
Duties :
- Understand basic technique standards for minimum radiographic exposure.
- Coordinate a variety of technical procedures requiring independent judgment.
- Review and evaluate anatomy and positioning for patient safety.
- Monitor patients for physiologic changes during procedures.
- Maintain accurate records for quality assurance and control.
Work Schedule : Full time, Monday to Friday Noon-8pm with rotational on-call schedule.
