Summary
This position is designed for someone interested in joining the research team within the at the , Scarborough, ME. Research in the Lynes Lab is focused primarily on understanding how fat tissue develops and functions to identify novel therapeutic approaches to treat obesity and cardiovascular disease.
- This Research Assistant I will work under the guidance of Principal Investigator (PI), Matthew Lynes, PhD. A successful Research Assistant I will assist in the lab in each of these ways : set up, operate, and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment;
- monitor experiments, make observations, calculate and record results; recognize problems or deviations in experimental conditions and notify appropriate personnel;
become skilled with routine techniques and procedures relevant to the overall goals of the lab.
The availability of this position is directly related to grant funding. This position is a fully-onsite role at our Scarborough, ME research facility.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
- Education : High school diploma preferred. Bachelor's degree preferred.
- License / Certifications : N / A
- Experience : No prior years of relevant experience required.

- Visual acuity, manual dexterity, math skills and a scientific acumen are required.
