POSITION SUMMARY : Metcon is a commercial general contractor that specializes in construction management, negotiated, design-build and select hard-bid projects.
Senior Project Managers are the primary point of project communications, planning, contracts, and reporting for multiple projects.
Responsibilities begin with team alignment, roles / responsibilities, pre-design, estimating, bidding and continue through construction, close-out, commissioning, and warranty.
The role requires the ability to monitor, direct, and grow the team, lead, teach, train, and manage programs of work. Interface with clients to negotiate contracts and resolve problems while executing project objectives to ensure timely and budget-compliant delivery.
The Senior Project Manager leads and supervises the project team during construction, exemplifying ethics, work attitude, and dedication to project success.
Experience level is determined by performance, experience, project complexity, size, and value. Ensure project goals, objectives, and initiatives align with the mission, vision, and values of Metcon.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Senior Project Management :
- Preparation of project team and support staff aligned to general conditions and client’s contract.
- Maintain a highly motivated staff by promoting a healthy and safe work environment.
- Develop Construction Management / GC Plan including project description, schedule, quality control, responsibility matrix, budgets, contract / legal requirements, project procedures manual, and communication protocols.
- Review estimate / bid packages and proposals; prepare standard subcontracts and negotiation strategies.
- Create and maintain cost reports focusing on project status, trends, and accuracy.
- Instill and maintain a positive working relationship with the Owner and Architect to promote repeat business.
- Cost Management :
- Generate and align standard subcontract and purchase orders with scopes of work, specifications, schedule, and project goals.
- Secure, review, approve, and submit subcontractor and supplier invoicing.
- Monitor material and labor costs and ensure accurate reporting / analysis.
- Coordinate, manage, and communicate with all subcontractors / vendors.
- Complete contract requirements, commissioning, punch lists, and project closeout within the targeted time frame.
- Time Management :
- Oversee Schedule Generation & Compliance; prepare project milestones and master schedule.
- Align schedule with Logistics Plan and project phasing.
- Develop and analyze change proposal request’s time impact.
- Quality Management :
- Oversee planning, organization, implementation, monitoring, and documentation of project services and workmanship.
- Develop and maintain a document control plan, submittals schedules, and construction testing logs.
- Identify and resolve non-compliant work immediately.
- Project / Contract Administration :
- Implement and maintain administrative tasks and reporting requirements for all construction contracts.
- Produce and maintain meeting minutes, tracking reports, and quality compliance reports.
- Safety Management :
- Coordinate with Metcon Safety Director to maintain Project Safety Manual and ensure site compliance.
- Ensure all project personnel follow the Project Safety Plan.
Minimum Qualifications & Training :
- Construction Management degree preferred or an equivalent combination of training and work experience.
- 15 years of field supervision experience.
- High level of emotional intelligence and integrity.
- Valid Driver’s License required for travel to project sites.
