Senior Accountant

Position Summary : The Senior Accountant will be responsible for helping to maintain accurate accounting records for multiple entities, reporting of financial results, reconciliation of financial records and the support of the company’s tax related processes and activities.
The position will be involved in maintaining fixed asset records, preparing journal entries, maintaining balance sheet schedules and ledgers, account and bank reconciliations, assisting with monthly closings, account analysis and supporting the Controller in carrying out the responsibilities of the accounting department.
Additionally, this position will also be responsible for forecasting capital expenditures.
Essential Functions :
- Adherence to month-end close calendar with various journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Comprehensive GL accounting responsibilities for multiple entities including but not limited to :
- Bank reconciliations
- Fixed Assets
- Accruals
- Expense analysis
- Balance Sheet reconciliations
- Monthly expense variance analysis.
- Assist the department with preparation of annual external review workpapers and workpapers for the tax return.
- Rent / CAM reconciliations for tenants
- Forecasting of capital expenditures
- Assist with Treasury Management
- Company credit card administration support
- Reconcile and process all journal entries for delivery service provider transactions (Door Dash, Uber Eats, Grub Hub)
- Filing sales tax in multiple states and restaurant taxes where required
Q ualifications and Experience :
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting and five (5) years’ experience in GL Accounting, OR
- Any appropriate combination of education and experience.
- Previous Fixed Asset experience
- Strong Excel and database skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Team player and have the ability to work independently.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to interact effectively with all levels throughout the organization.
- Track record of improving processes and creating efficiencies.
- Previous experience working with delivery service providers a plus, but not required
