Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Neuro ICU opportunity requiring ICU and IMC float flexibility and strong experience with ventilators and acute stroke management.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

  • Work in a Neuro ICU within a short-term acute care hospital setting
  • Care for neurological critical care patients with a patient ratio of 1 : 2 in ICU and 1 : 4 in IMC
  • Float required to IMC, Med / Surg, or Tele units with equivalent or lower acuity
  • Night shift : 4x12 hour shifts from 19 : 00 to 07 : 30
  • Every other weekend shifts required with at least 6 weekend shifts per contract
  • Holiday coverage required as needed
  • Uses Cerner EMR; Cerner experience required
  • Tele and vent management required
  • First-time travelers are welcome on this unit
  • Holiday coverage and floating between ICU, IMC, Med / Surg, and Tele units is required
  • Scrubs are not provided; hunter green color is required
  • Parking is free on site
  • Completion of required online modules prior to start and during orientation
  • Return staff must have been separated from the health system for at least 1 year to be eligible
  • Local candidates are accepted at a lower rate for those residing within 60 miles
  • No more than 7 days of requested time off for the duration of the 13-week contract is highly preferred, and no time off is allowed during the first 2 weeks
  • \n \n Requirements\n

  • Active MD or compact RN license required at time of consideration
  • Minimum 2 years of recent ICU nursing experience required
  • Current certifications required : ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
  • Experience with telemetry, vent management, and CVA / acute stroke care required
  • Cerner charting experience required
  • Two professional supervisor references from the past 2 years required
  • Flu vaccine required
