Sanitation Supervisor

Sanitation experience a huge plus JOB SUMMARYThis is an Operations position responsible for supervising theactivities associated with the general maintenance, repair, andappearance of the facility, outside grounds, security, powerindustrial equipment technicians and third-party providers.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, expensemanagement, compliance with government regulations, ensuring safetyand security of the building, its contents and people andmanagement and direction to facility maintenance staff.

RESPONSIBILITIES Manages the daily work and safety of associatesengaged in building, grounds, sanitation, refrigeration systems,beverage department, power industrial equipment, Material HandlingEquipment (MHE), automation, and security.

Oversees labor hours andconsumable supplies within budget. Prepares work schedulesincluding extra work days and shifts as needed.

Coordinatesemergency response or crisis management activities, develops andmaintains liaisons with local emergency management and otherentities to facilitate plan development, response effortcoordination and assists Safety Manager with training initiatives.

Supervises the proper selection, purchase, utilization, andinventory of Company assets in support of the facilities, beveragedepartment, and power industrial equipment, Material HandlingEquipment (MHE), Automation, and security departments.

Coordinateswith other departments as necessary to ensure upgrades and repairsare completed efficiently and effectively. Develops businessrelationships to ensure communication and efficient operations withthird-party vendors, including but not limited to, janitorial, pestservices, security, external contractors, facility maintenance andbeverage.

Maintains current certificate of insurance and holdharmless agreements for all contracted vendors. Suggests efficiencyideas, cost reduction measures and assists with the implementationof changes within facility maintenance, beverage, power industrialequipment, and security.

Establishes preventative maintenanceschedules for all systems, equipment, and buildings including : ammonia refrigeration system, Heating, Ventilation, and AirConditioning (HVAC) systems, fire protection and security systems,electrical and energy management, dock doors / dock plate systems,power industrial equipment, Material Handling Equipment (MHE),Automation, building components (roof, interior and exteriorfloors / walls, doors, paved surfaces and landscaping).

Handles,assignments, and monitors department projects for quality andtimely completion. Utilizes maintenance tracking software for taskmanagement.

Conducts audits ensuring all required inspections anddocumentation are completed accurately (including but not limitedto food safety documentation, EPSM, PSM, GFSI, etc.

and retainedto ensure a minimum potential for loss. Preserve associaterelations through regular department or pre-shift meetings.

Maintains on-going interaction. Keeps open communication channelswith associates by answering questions and explaining policies andprocedures;

monitors associate morale, and submits and respond toideas to improve associate engagement and enablement. Interpretstrains and consistently enforces Company policies and procedures.

Coordinates efforts with the Safety department to aid in training,conducting associate observations, up-dating preferred workmethods, conducting accident investigations to determine rootcauses and routine safety inspections.

Makes recommendations fordisciplinary action and / or behavior modification where required.Execute management functions of staff selection, development,discipline, performance reviews and / or terminations.

Performs theduties of associates supervised and other related duties as needed.Complies with local, state and federal regulatory agencies (i.

e.OSHA, EPA, etc.) QUALIFICATIONS Education High school diploma orgeneral education degree (GED). Experience 5 years maintenanceexperience;

or equivalent combination of education and relatedexperience. Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations Must possessa valid state Driver's License and provide proof of liabilitycoverage meeting Company standards.

Complete a Sysco approveddefensive driving program. Level 1 Ammonia Operation Certificationrequired, or must obtain within 60 days of employment and pass onthe first try as a condition of employment.

Level 2 is preferred.HAZWOPER 24 hrs Training required or must obtain within 60 days ofemployment and pass on the first try as a condition of employment.

Certificate, licenses and registrations in refrigeration required.Obtain a Powered Industrial Equipment Certification from Syscowithin 3 months.

Professional Skills Ability to read, analyze andinterpret general business periodicals, professional journals,technical procedures, or governmental regulations.

Write reports,business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Effectively presentinformation and respond to questions from groups of managers,clients, customers, and the general public.

Can add, subtracts,multiply, and divides into all units of measure, using wholenumbers, common fractions, and decimals. Able to solve practicalproblems and deal with a variety of concrete variables insituations where only limited standardization exists.

Interpret avariety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, orschedule form. Demonstrate knowledge of Spreadsheet software andWord Processing software, and ability to learn Sysco technologysoftware and programs.

Working knowledge of ammonia and Freonsystems. Proven knowledge of environmental regulations / legislationand governing bodies.

Successfully engage and lead individual andteam discussions and meetings. Apply all relevant policies in aconsistent, timely and objective manner.

Capable of working withpeers and associates from other departments and shifts proactivelyand constructively. Work in a disciplined manner and capable offollowing established procedures, practices and comply with local,state and federal regulations.
