Job Summary : The Fire Alarm Foreman is responsible for the physical installation of alarm system cabling and devices on low voltage circuits at both new construction sites and existing buildings undergoing remodels.
This role involves leading the installation team to complete multiple phases of system installation, ensuring client deadlines are met, and maintaining compliance with safety standards.
The Foreman is also tasked with working on additional alarm and life safety systems, producing accurate as-built print sets upon project completion, and fostering a positive team culture.
Occasional travel outside the Des Moines area, including overnight stays, may be required. Opportunities for advancement are available based on work quality and certification acquisition.
Key Responsibilities : Perform the physical installation of alarm system cabling and devices on low voltage circuits. Work on new construction sites and existing buildings during remodels.
Supervise, correct, and train the installation team assigned to each job. Coordinate with the Project Management team to ensure job-site readiness prior to arrival.
Ensure compliance with Kline Electric and site safety requirements, including completing jobsite safety documentation. Produce accurate as-built print sets reflecting field installation upon project completion.
Work on additional alarm and life safety systems as required. Occasionally stay in hotels for projects outside of the Des Moines area.
Cultivate a positive team culture within and across Kline Electric departments. Education Requirements : High School Diploma or G.
E.D. Experience Requirements : 2+ years of field experience in fire alarm and low voltage systems. Applicable related construction experience will be considered.
Certification Requirements : NICET I or ESA I certification within the first 18 months of employment. OSHA 10 certification upon hire.
Physical Requirements : Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. regularly. Work on ladders, scaffolds, and aerial lift platforms.
Work in confined spaces while adhering to OSHA and company safety standards. Communicate clearly and professionally with customers, project managers, and co-workers.
Recommended Skills : Proficiency with hand and power tools. Familiarity with wiring diagrams involving all electrical trades.
Experience installing fire alarm and / or low voltage cabling and field equipment. Basic computer skills for accessing job site management software and digital plan sets.
Experience reviewing system specifications and reading blueprints. Work Environment : Exposure to typical job site weather conditions and moderate noise levels.
