Surgical Tech (CST)

Position Summary :

The Surgical Technologist practices under the direction of a Registered Nurse in an autonomous and collegial manner, integrating, critical thinking skills, commitment, creativity and caring.

Education / Experience :

Post-secondary education preferred.

Special Knowledge / Skills / Certifications / Licenses :

Must be certified through one of the following Surgical Technologist Programs : CST ( or NCCT / General / VerifyCertification.

• Practical knowledge of basic surgical instrumentation and equipment of orthopedic surgical procedures.
• Demonstrated knowledge of the principles of aseptic technique and sterilization methods.
• Demonstrated knowledge of age related growth and development principles necessary to provide appropriate service and assure safety of patients.
• Currently validated CPR skills preferred.
