n : tGeneral Description : nUnder general supervision, provides nursing care in a hospital to a variety of patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex.
n nEssential Responsibilities : nResponsibilities listed in this section are core to the position. Inability to perform these responsibilities with or without an accommodation may result in disqualification from the position.
nAssumes responsibility for an assigned group of patients. nDocuments patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments;
notes all changes in physician order on assigned patients. nAssists physician in the examination of patients and in performing minor diagnostic procedures and treatment.
Obtains and monitors physiological data of patients, observes the physiological manifestations of patients and intervenes when necessary.
nAdministers medication as prescribed. Initiates, regulates and monitors intravenous infusions and blood products. nDelivers patient care competently.
nInteracts with family and patient in sharing care plan while in the hospital and at time of discharge. nInforms patient and family of hospital procedures.
nMakes referral regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel. nDelegates tasks to support staff. n nGeneral Responsibilities : nPerforms other duties as assigned.
nSkills : tExperience : nNone required; if less than one (1) year of Registered Nurse (RN) clinical experience, the RN would be placed into the Nurse Residency Program.
n nKnowledge, Skills and Abilities : nKnowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques and procedures. nAbility to organize, plan, coordinate and evaluate nursing services and apply nursing techniques.
nAbility to maintain good working relationships with other employees. nGood verbal and written communication skills. nAbility to respond effectively to cultural and language needs of patients and visitors.
nSome computer skills. nEducation : tEducation : nGraduate from an accredited school school of nursing required. nBachelor of Science (or higher) in Nursing Board Approved Program preferred.
n nLicensure / Certifications / Registrations Required : nCurrent RN License issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing, or a current multistate compact RN License (eNLC).
nCurrent Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association required upon hire. nACLS (American Heart Association) required upon 3 months of hire.
