Overview Purpose Statement / Position Summary : The Vice President, Enterprise Commercial and Governmental Contracting is responsible for strategically directing all functions in support of the Enterprise, and proactively providing operational insights in the development, negotiation, and execution of all types of Payor Contracting for Children’s Hospital Los Angeles (Medical Center), Children’s Hospital Los Angeles Teaching Clinics, Children’s Hospital Los Angeles Medical Group (Medical Group), Children’s Health Alliance of Medical Providers (CHAMPS) and Pathology LP, across all lines of businesses (Commercial, Medi-Cal, FFS, VBC, APM) for whom the Enterprise provides facility and professional services.

This leader oversees strategic development of Medi-Cal reimbursement and alternative payor models, as well as negotiation, communication, implementation and oversight of managed care contracting and collaboration with operative partners.

This position will oversee the Enterprise’s collaboration with health plans, physician groups, and 3rd party payors for both commercial and governmental plans.

Additionally, this leader represents the CHLA organization and the division both internally and externally. The vice president should have a deep understanding of Medi-Cal financing policies, including but not limited to fee-for-service (FFS) and Medi-Cal Managed Care payment arrangements, as well as shifting alternative payment models in California’s Medicaid environment.

Minimum Qualifications / Work Experience : 10+ years of relevant experience is required under fee for service as well as at-risk managed care contracting.

5+ years managing people or projects within a healthcare environment. The ability to analyze and explain complex concepts and contract terms to a broad audience that includes physicians and faculty.

Multi-tasking within the confines of tight budgets and timelines. Education / Licensure / Certification : Bachelor’s degree is required.

An advanced degree in healthcare administration, contracts or a related field is preferred. Pay Scale Information USD $245,232.

00 - USD $382,512.00 CHLA values the contribution each Team Member brings to our organization. Final determination of a successful candidate’s starting pay will vary based on a number of factors, including, but not limited to education and experience within the job or the industry.

The pay scale listed for this position is generally for candidates that meet the specified qualifications and requirements listed on this specific job description.
