Talon Recruiting has partnered with a Heavy Equipment company. We are in search of a Field Mechanic to join their team in Rochester, NY.
Ideal Fit : The ideal fit will have extensive knowledge of Crane, Forklift or Industrial Equipment maintenance.
Essential Duties :
- Read mechanical schematics and perform basic mechanical troubleshooting.
- Read mechanical and machinist blueprints, and precision measuring instruments, then document findings on appropriate paperwork.
- Perform mechanical and welding-type duties on an as-needed basis and meet all requirements such as welding specs, rigging, and assembling cranes.
- Troubleshoot all sizes and types of cranes and mechanically determine problems and take corrective action.
- Work independently with little or no supervision.
- Provide Service Manager with accurate and complete information on mechanical machinery in order to install / replace / order replacement parts.
- Operate machinery in the shop and the field as needed such as saw, fork truck, cherry picker, high lift, torch welder, transit.
- Work in extreme conditions such as height, dirt, noise, vibration, nuclear Environment, and temperature.
- Perform all assignments according to established procedures, guidelines and with recognized electrical codes.
