My Village Library is dedicated to supporting the educational growth and development of students in our community. We provide 1 to 1 tutoring in 1 hour shifts at 4, 5 & 6, M-Thursday.

Mission : The mission of My Village Library is to support and encourage at-risk students in the Hurst-Euless-Bedford ISD (HEB ISD) to succeed academically through a comprehensive tutoring program. The program targets students from grades 1-9 who are struggling in school, serving approximately 50 students per year, with a notable waiting list.

Program Overview : The after-school tutoring program provides individualized tutoring, homework support, and mentoring, with students attending two one-hour sessions each week during the school year. The primary focus of these sessions is on completing homework while also fostering social, emotional, and cognitive skills through relationships built with tutors. To maintain academic progress during summer, the program offers two four-week sessions : one focused on reading and writing skills, and another based on STEAM education.

Eligibility and Retention : Students eligible for My Village Library must meet three criteria : maintaining a C or lower average, coming from financially struggling families, and facing language barriers. Once enrolled, students can continue in the program until the end of ninth grade. The program boasts an 80% retention rate, highlighting the value students place on the education and skills they receive.
