Amos House is looking for a dynamic Director of Human Resources who will be a member of Amos House’s management team and be responsible for implementing the organization’s policies, onboarding of staff, including recruitment, new employee orientation, on-boarding and retention planning, and the oversight of payroll & benefits.
The HR Director will implement all of Amos House employee policies, protocols, and processes. The HR Director will have extensive experience in a non-profit setting with a diverse staff and clientele.
Specific duties include :
- Work with management team to analyze existing organizational policies and procedures and update accordingly.
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices.
- Prepare and submit yearly CLAS and OSHA Reports.
- Develop, evaluate, revise, and monitor policies and procedures to ensure they are equitable and inclusive.
- Work with CEO to review current salaries and job descriptions, and ensure parity in compensation, agency-wide.
- Work with Senior Management to develop pathways to create appropriate advancement ladders for employees.
- Manage Amos House’s tuition assistance program.
- Oversee the agency’s employee enrichment committee to develop, schedule, and coordinate agency-wide HR communications and monthly staff meetings.
- Maintain confidential employee files.
- Coordinate, review, and track mandatory employee training such as driver safety, sexual harassment, certifications, licensure, including the management of our internal Learning System, etc.
- Oversee onboarding of new employees including revising and updating orientation process as needed.
- Develop a recruitment plan for new employees.
- Prepare Annual Performance Evaluation guidance and paperwork and oversee the timely completion of annual performance reviews.
- Assist in the resolution of employee conflicts / challenges and participate, as needed, in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
- Oversee employee conflicts, grievances, or other work-related problems.
- Work with brokers to evaluate, manage and implement all benefits.
- Oversee the Payroll and Benefits Administrator to ensure that payroll and benefits are offered in accordance with established policies and yearly reports are completed and submitted in a timely fashion.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required skills :
- Strong analytic and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated HR experience including payroll, Benefits, and 401K (preferably in a non-profit setting).
- Strong verbal and written skills.
- Ability to utilize ADP or other similar payroll processing software.
Candidate will have a BA and / or Master’s Degree and at least 5 years’ experience in an HR capacity. Must demonstrate the values of Amos House and a strong commitment to Anti-Racism and to Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Justice.
Strong interpersonal skills are a must.
Salary range : $90,000 - $110,000
