High School Level American Literature Tutor

The Varsity Tutors Live Learning Platform connects online tutors with thousands of students nationwide. As a tutor, you’ll have the flexibility to set your own schedule, earn competitive rates, and impact students’ learning from home.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver 1-on-1 online tutoring sessions in High School Level American Literature.
  • Adapt lessons to individual learning styles and needs.
  • Explain concepts clearly and engage students with a friendly teaching style.
  • Prepare and tailor instructional materials using the platform’s tools.
  • Establish and maintain a positive learning environment.
  • Coordinate session delivery using the Live Learning Platform.

Qualifications

  • Strong communication skills and an engaging teaching style.
  • Expertise in High School Level American Literature with the ability to explain concepts clearly.
  • Ability to personalize lessons and adapt to different learning styles.
  • Experience in tutoring or teaching preferred; graduate-level education is a plus.

    • Compensation and Logistics

  • Base contract rates start at $18 / hour and increase for specialized subjects, with potential up to $40 / hour for continuing sessions with the same student.
  • Get paid up to twice per week.
  • Set your own hours and tutor as much as you’d like.
  • Tutor remotely using the Live Learning Platform—no commuting required.
  • AI-powered Tutor Copilot enhances sessions with real-time instructional support and engagement features.
  • We handle the logistics—you invoice for your tutoring sessions, and we take care of payments.
