BCforward is currently seeking a highly motivated Infrastructure Engineer for an opportunity in Houston, TX (Hybrid)!

Position Title : Infrastructure Engineer

Location : Houston, TX (Hybrid)

Anticipated Start Date : Tentative Start Date

Expected Duration : 12 months contract with possible extension.

Job Type : Contract, Hybrid / On-Site

Pay Range : $47.29 - $50.34

Please note that actual compensation may vary within this range due to factors such as location, experience, and job responsibilities, and does not encompass additional non-standard compensation (e.

g., benefits, paid time off, per diem, etc.).

Job Description :

This role requires a wide variety of strengths and capabilities, including :

• Advanced knowledge of Cohesity, Commvault, Index Engines backup products, including the command line environment. Intermediate knowledge of AWS or AZURE is a plus.
• Strong experience in scripting (shell, Perl, python etc.) to automate the backup service requirement.
• Knowledgeable in TCP / IP networking, Firewall technology
• 3+ years of experience with problem resolution in large scale production environment
• Experience with backup provisioning and configuration in Cohesity and Commvault.
• Familiar with storage products - Block (SAN) and File (NAS)
• Intermediate knowledge of large-scale enterprise backup solutions
• Knowledgeable in Microsoft Windows, Visio, other Productivity tools
• Advanced business continuity / resiliency knowledge
• Articulates the business value and impact of technical and non-technical information and understands when to escalate issues.
• Provides effective production support including accurate problem identification, ticket documentation and customer / vendor dialogue.
• Delivers project and process documentation for small-to medium-scale projects and drives compliance with structured Project Delivery Process.
• Ensures information controls, back-up and recovery strategies are in place across all environments.
• Must have a strong technology background to understand change requests and to recommend alternate solutions.
• Familiar with agile development methodologies and practices
• Experience with ITIL processes - Incident Management and Change Management required.

Key Responsibilities :

Applies technical knowledge and problem-solving methodologies to projects of moderate scope, with a focus on improving the data / systems running at scale;

and ensures end to end monitoring of applications.

• Resolves most nuances and determines appropriate escalation path.
• Executes conventional approaches to build or break down technical problems.
• Drives the daily activities supporting the standard capacity process applications.
• Partners with application and infrastructure teams to identify potential capacity risks and govern remediation statuses.
• Considers upstream / downstream data / systems or technical implications.
• Accountable for making significant decisions for a project consisting of multiple technologies and applications.
• Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect.
