Position Summary
The Chief Executive Officer will partner with the Executive Management Team and Board of Directors to establish long-range goals, strategies, plans, and policies and will be responsible to design and implement these policies to promote company culture and vision and to oversee operations to keep business on track.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following :
- Translate strategy into actionable steps for growth, implementing organization-wide goal setting, performance management, and annual operations planning.
- Implement strategies and oversee the execution of plans to attain short and long-term financial and mission-critical operational goals.
- Oversee company operations and employee productivity, building a highly inclusive culture that ensures team members can thrive and that organizational goals are met.
- Establish credibility throughout the organization and with the Executive Team as an effective developer of solutions to business challenges.
- Demonstrate a willingness to take on new tasks with a general attitude that no task is too small, impossible, or cannot be improved.
- Drive the company to achieve and surpass sales, profitability, cash flow, and business goals and objectives.
- Spearhead the development, communication, and implementation of effective growth strategies and processes.
- Collaborate with the executive management team to develop and implement plans for the operational infrastructure of systems, processes, and personnel designed to accommodate the growth objectives of the company.
- Motivate and lead a high-performance management team; oversee daily operations of the company.
- Foster a success-oriented, accountable environment within the company.
- Manage subordinate business unit supervisors across multiple locations and over various functions; hold responsibility for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units.
- Evaluate performance by analyzing and interpreting data and metrics.
- Manage capital investments and expenses aggressively to ensure that the company achieves investor targets for growth and profitability.
- Participate in expansion activities (investments, acquisitions, corporate alliances, etc.).
- Build and maintain trusting relationships with partners and stakeholders.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
- Bachelor’s degree in business, construction management, engineering, or related field; and / or Master’s License for Skilled Trades (Plumbing, Electrical, Mechanical).
- 3-5 years of progressive experience in a VP or higher-level position managing one or more major business functions (e.g.
operations, business development, etc.).
- 20-25 years of comprehensive knowledge of industry and industry-related trends and forecasts, i.e., underground utilities, skilled trades, etc.
- Communication : Speak clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations, demonstrate group presentation skills, and conduct productive meetings.
- Leadership : Inspire and motivate others to perform well and accept feedback from others.
- Management Skills : Involve staff in planning, decision-making, facilitation, and process improvement; be available to staff;
provide regular performance feedback; and develop subordinates’ skills and encourage growth.
- Quality Management : Explore ways to improve and promote quality; demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness; and maintain compliance with legal and regulatory aspects.
- Judgment : Display willingness to make decisions; exhibit sound and accurate judgment; and make timely decisions.
- Safety and Security : Observe safety and security procedures, and proper use of equipment and materials.
