Summary
To provide direct and indirect nursing care to a patient or a group of patients.
Responsibilities
- Completes the Admission assessment of the patient providing a clear picture of his / her status.
- Follows the 5 Rights of Medication Administration, verbalizing to patients / family / significant other the medication they are receiving.
- Assesses patients for potential safety risks upon admission.
- Assesses learning needs of patient / family / significant other. P
- Promotes a positive work environment through personal example and teamwork.
- Assesses patientï ½s skin condition on admission, every shift, change in condition, transfer and discharge.
- Adheres to Nursing Standards of Practice to include assessment, care planning, interventions and evaluation of the plan of care.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position.
Education : ASSOCIATE'S LVL DGRE
Required : Registered Nurse (R.N.) License to practice in the State of Connecticut, Basic Cardiac Life Support (CPR), ACLS, PALS / ENPC, TNCC, trauma hours, nonviolent crisis intervention, as per unit standards
Working Conditions
Manual : significant manual skills / motor coord & finger dexterity
Occupational : Significant occupational risk
Physical Effort : Very Heavy effort. May exert up to 50 lbs. force
Physical Environment : Significant exposure to dirt, odors, noise, human waste, etc.
