Position Summary :
The Department of Data Science at New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) seeks Online University Lecturer / Senior University Lecturer candidates.
Candidates are expected to teach introductory data science and programming courses (like DS 301 or CS 100) and algorithms and data structures courses in support of our undergraduate and graduate programs.
The successful candidate will also be involved in creating course content and materials with a focus on hands-on experiential and project-based learning.

Essential Functions :
The successful candidate will be expected to teach online undergraduate and graduate courses related to data science, programming and algorithms and data structures as well as create course content and materials.
Prerequisite Qualifications :
- Successful candidates must have an MS degree in Data Science or Computer Science or a related computing area.
- Candidates should demonstrate an expert grasp of knowledge in one or more of the following areas : data management, programming, and algorithms and data structures either through a record of teaching excellence, or through industrial experience.
- Knowledge in data / computer science pedagogy is a plus.
- Experience teaching online courses as well as designing and building online courses.
- Experience with learning management systems (e.g., Canvas) as well as with online video conferencing and collaboration tools (e.g., WebEx, Slack).
- At the university's discretion, the education and experience prerequisites may be exempted where the candidate can demonstrate to the satisfaction of the university, an equivalent combination of education and experience specifically preparing the candidate for success in the position.
Preferred Qualifications :
- Strong written, oral and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with online proctoring systems (e.g., ProctorU).
