Manufacturing Engineer – Industrial Equipment & Continuous Improvement

Job Description

A global leader with operations in 100+ countries is seeking a hands-on Manufacturing Engineer to drive equipment-level continuous improvement at its Columbus, Ohio facility.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving problems at the equipment level—not just process changes—and thrives in an industrial manufacturing environment. You\'ll work on real production challenges, lead improvement projects, and make an impact from day one.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute continuous improvement projects to boost efficiency, quality, safety, and cost performance.
  • Design, test, and implement upgrades for industrial equipment
  • Support equipment troubleshooting, rebuilds, and breakdown response in real time.
  • Develop CAD drawings, technical documentation , and project specs.
  • Manage projects from concept through installation and final handoff.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams locally and globally (some travel required).
  • Train operators and maintenance teams on new systems and safety practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar technical field preferred, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing engineering or project engineering role.
  • Strong knowledge of industrial equipment —material handling, HVAC, combustion systems, etc.
  • Proficiency in mechanical and electrical design , with strong troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience with industrial electrical controls or PLCs strongly preferred.
  • Proficient in CAD software and technical documentation.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing or continuous improvement certifications is a major plus.
