Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position in a Level 1 Trauma Center, requiring an IL RN license and strong acute care background.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

  • Work in the Emergency Department and Clinical Decision Unit (CDU) of a hospital setting
  • Level 1 Trauma Center environment with a varied emergency case mix
  • Night shifts, three 12-hour shifts per week (7 : 00 pm to 7 : 30 am), with every other weekend required
  • Mandatory floating to other units or facilities within a 50-mile radius as needed
  • Cerner charting system is used
  • Will care for a diverse population of ED and observation patients in a fast-paced trauma setting
  • Strict compliance deadlines for documentation and lab work must be met
  • Team-based model used when floated outside of primary specialty area
  • Navy blue scrubs are required but not provided
  • Parking available for a small daily fee with shuttle service provided
  • Maximum of 5 days requested time off allowed per contract, with no more than 2 consecutive days; holiday and weekend time off is not permitted
  • No block or special scheduling requests are allowed
  • First-time travelers are accepted

  • Active IL RN license required at the time of consideration
  • Minimum 2 years of recent acute care experience in the Emergency Department
  • Current certifications : BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and PALS
  • Proof of COVID vaccination required
  • Candidates must live within a 75-mile radius to be eligible as local
