Shift : Nights, 7p-7a, 12x3, 36hrs per week, every 3rd Fri / sat / sun

Length : 13 weeks

• Charting : Meditech experience is highly preferred. However, orientation can include Meditech training

• IL license required
• ACLS
• PALS
• NIH preferred
• TNCC preferred

Pending License accepted : No

Will clinician float within scope to meet facility needs? No

Locals accepted : Yes - same rate

RTO Restrictions : No RTO within first week of start date. No more than 10 days of RTO per assignment. Finalized RTO must be included with submission.

Emergency room travel nurses are on the hospital front-lines, which is why emergency room travel nurse positions require a candidate who is able to handle a stressful and busy environment.

They are responsible for examining patients upon their arrival and carrying out triage tasks to assess their condition. Ability to identify injuries, signs and symptoms, and communicate their assessment to the physician are required for the emergency room nurse.

A travel ER nurse assists in patient treatment and explaining prescription information to patient / family among other tasks and must know the facility and government policies as it relates to patient treatment, transfer, and discharge.

Educating the patient and their family about continued treatment at home is another task carried out by emergency room nurses before discharge.
