Job Description

Senior Transportation Planner Project Manager

AECOM is offering an exceptional opportunity for a Senior Transportation Planner Project Manager to provide in-house consulting services with Floridas Turnpike Enterprise.

As a prominent toll agency the Florida Department of Transportation, Floridas Turnpike Enterprise oversees over 500 miles of limited access roadways across Florida.

In this pivotal role, you will join a dynamic team engaged in a diverse array of high-profile trasnportation projects. You will have the opportunity to introduce innovative ideas, influence strategic plans and processes, and lead the forefront of transportation planning and design in Florida.

You will be a key member of the Turnpikes Intermodal Systems Development group, responsible for a variety of planning projects and studies.

Your expertise in transportation planning, project feasibility evaluations, and master planning will be invaluable to our mission.

As a senior transortation planner project manager, you will be expected to execute project management assignments largely with independence, using judgment in making appropriate adaptations and modifications.

The candidate may also be required to carry out complex or novel assignments or research requiring the development of new or improved techniques and procedures.

Strong written and oral communication skills are required to successfully interact with clients, other consultants, and AECOM staff within the Turnpikes Intermodal Systems Development group and to produce top-quality documentation of transportation project studies.

Plus strong organizational skills and strong analytical and problem-solving skills and a strong sense of closure to see all assignments through to completion on-schedule, with an understanding of the unique requirements of transportation planning for the toll industry preferred.

  • Shape the Future : Develop work scopes, schedules, and budgets for exciting transportation planning projects.
  • Collaborate with Experts : Oversee contributions from specialists in traffic engineering, travel demand modeling, GIS, financial analysis, and more.
  • Lead Documentation Efforts : Prepare essential project documents, including Technical Memoranda, Feasibility Reports, and Traffic and Revenue Studies.
  • Analyze and Forecast : Conduct planning analysis of current and future land use, utilizing GIS to understand development patterns and forecasts.
  • Present Your Findings : Lead briefings to share transportation project results with clients, stakeholders, and interested parties.
  • Keep Clients Informed : Regularly summarize project progress in clear, concise reports.
  • Get Hands-On : Direct field data acquisition, site investigations, and surveys.
  • Evaluate and Plan : Assess transportation systems, roadway levels of service, and forecast future transportation needs.
  • Research and Report : Define, research, and report on regional and local transportation planning issues and priorities.
  • Engage with the Community : Lead and support public meetings or hearings to explain projects, gather feedback, and build consensus.
  • Analyze Policies : Evaluate the transportation-related impacts of federal and state legislative proposals and conduct policy analysis.

Qualifications

Minimum :

  • Educational Background : A Bachelors degree in engineering, planning, public policy, or a related field.
  • Professional Experience : 8 years as a Transportation Planner or Engineer, including experience as a Project / Task Manager for transportation projects or demonstrated equivalency of experience and / or education
  • Drivers License : A valid Drivers License is needed to visit project sites, clients, and other AECOM offices. As part of the job, youll need to pass a US Motor Vehicle Records review.

Preferred :

  • Educational Flexibility : A Masters degree in a related field
  • Valued Certifications : Certifications or licenses; AICP, PE, or PTP is a plus.
  • Project Management : Experience in managing transportation planning, engineering, or corridor studies is highly appreciated.
  • Local Knowledge : Experience with Floridas planning and growth management processes is beneficial.
  • Tech Savvy : Experience with ESRI Arc Map GIS is great, and GIS Pro.
  • Communication Skills : Experience in technical writing, public speaking, and presentations.

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $95,000.00 - $145,000.00.
