KAIROS, Inc is searching for an energetic, experienced and highly motivated Mission Systems Sustainment, Systems Engineer, Journeyman to join our team.

This position will be onsite at Patuxent River Naval Air Station in Lexington Park, MD with teleworking opportunity.  Established in July 2013, KAIROS, Inc. is a growing Woman Owned Small Business (WOSB) providing full life cycle Cybersecurity, Program Management, Systems Engineering, and Training and Education services focused on optimizing customers’ program performance and mission through proven methodologies and ethical practices.

Overview :

  • The Mission Systems Sustainment, Systems Engineer will support the H-60 Multi-Mission Helicopters Program Office at Patuxent River Naval Air Station in Lexington Park, MD.
  • The candidate will be supporting aircraft mission systems and subsystems Service Life Extension initiatives by resolving obsolescence issues and advancing the modernization of avionics and mission systems.

Primary Duties :

  • Performs programmatic or technical knowledge identifying, formulating, designing, and / or testing practical solutions to engineering problems.
  • Guiding the engineering development of modern complex systems.
  • Employing systems engineering methods and tools in the development of systems.

    • Qualifications :

  • Demonstrated knowledge in avionics and mission systems with practical experience in modernization or upgrades.
  • Demonstrated experience in an area of engineering expertise.
  • Experience supporting Service Life Extension initiatives, including identifying and resolving obsolescence issues.
  • Background in avionics and mission systems with practical experience in modernization or upgrades.
  • Demonstrated expertise in software engineering concepts as applied to avionics and systems integration.
  • Experienced background in avionics and mission systems with practical experience in modernization or upgrades.
  • Knowledge of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) principles, tools, and methodologies.

    • Ability to analyze, design, and document solutions that sustain and enhance system performance over time. ​ Education and Experience :

  • Bachelor’s degree in technical or scientific field from an accredited college or university.
  • Three (3) years of recent and relevant in a position related to the labor category description.

    • Clearance :

  • This position is subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
  • In order to complete the requirements for government security clearance investigation you must be a U.S.
  • Citizen and be able to complete the full background investigation.
  • This position requires an Active Secret Security Clearance with ability to obtain and maintain a higher clearance if required.
  • While skills, education, and experience are key factors, they are not the sole determinants of salary.
  • Other determining factors include but are not limited to location, contract budgets and requirements, and government labor category guidelines.
  • The estimated salary range for this position is $85,000-$115,000.
