Senior Project Manager - Northeast US Region (New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania)

Supervisory responsibilities : Lead and supervise (directly and / or indirectly) a project team of 10-20 operators and laborers;

monitor, track, and document performance; give feedback to employees; discipline behavior that does not meet project and company employment and safety policies.

    Position type and expected hours of work : This position reports to the General Manager and works 5-6 days per week; 10-12 hours per day.

    Summary : Responsible for planning, overseeing and leading projects from ideation through to completion. Position requires interaction with a range of internal and external stakeholders, most often managing several moving project parts simultaneously.

    Essential functions :

    • Manages dredging and dewatering division.
    • Project Development with engineers and general contractors, subcontractors Review of plans, specifications
    • Attending pre-bid meetings, sample collection for determination of dry solids content pre and post dewatering.
    • Dewaterability and polymer testing to build project design and pricing in conjunction with operations manager.
    • Estimating through use of bid model, bid preparation.
    • Contract review and negotiations, including with subcontractors.
    • Overall Contract Management including, project scheduling, tracking and all necessary documentation.
    • Invoice preparation and review with Administrative Assistant.
    • Review of personnel hiring for group.
    • Project management with Client meetings and communication, interface with Operations manager.
    • Review of P and L (project specific and entire business unit).

    Competency : Must be detail oriented, accurate, flexible, and dependable. Strong written and oral communication skills. Willingness to establish and maintain effective working relationships.

    Work environment : While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works in outside weather conditions.

    The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and / or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, or overwhelming odors.

    Physical demands : To successfully perform the essential functions of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, talk, climb and hear.

    The employee is constantly required to use hands and fingers to feel, handle or operate objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms.

    The employee is occasionally required to balance, stoop, knee, crouch, crawl and walk. The employee must occasionally lift.

    Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

    Travel : Travel may be frequent depending on job assigned.

    Preferred education and experience : Bachelor Degree Required. Must have valid driver’s license. Project / Construction Management Experience Required.
