The Criminology and Criminal Justice (CCJ) program at Emmanuel College invites candidates to apply for an Assistant Professor of Criminology and Criminal Justice position starting in fall 2026.

This is a permanent, promotable position with a 3 / 3 teaching load (average class sizes typically ranging from 15-30 students).

This position may be tenure-track based on the experience and research portfolio of the successful candidate. Professional experience in the criminal justice field is preferred.

The CCJ program at Emmanuel College is vibrant and growing, with high student interest and ample opportunities for growth and expansion.

In addition to teaching, the position requires a robust research agenda and active service to the department and college.

A demonstrated commitment to teaching, research, and service is required.

The CCJ program seeks a colleague to teach various courses within the Criminology & Criminal Justice program, including a major and minor, with the potential to build new courses that enhance the current curriculum.

This position expects active participation in the CCJ program, including department meetings, events, student advising, and other college-wide activities.

The CCJ program and its faculty are committed to teaching in a learning community that values diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Requirements :

Ph.D. in Criminology or Criminal Justice (preferred) or Juris Doctor.

Candidates with a Ph.D. in Sociology (with a concentration in CCJ or a related field) will be considered; experience teaching as the instructor-of-record at the college level.
