Overview
Hunt Electric, Inc. is seeking a Preconstruction Manager to join our team. The Preconstruction Manager is a full-time position with responsibilities including creating, managing, collaborating, and executing quality electrical projects while planning, identifying, and pursuing new prospects to expand market opportunities. Reports to the VP of Electrical Construction.
Responsibilities
- Lead design / build and plan / spec estimating for electrical construction projects including office buildings, commercial, warehouse and distribution, data center, water / wastewater, and industrial facilities.
- Evaluate all project documentation, including materials, equipment, time to completion, and labor, and prepare bids and cost estimates.
- Provide support to preconstruction and engineering activities, update estimating and design-build projects, contact owners / developers / architects for bid information, issue estimated numbers, order plans and specifications, order bid bonds if needed, and complete pre-qualification forms.
- Attend regular meetings with project architects and customers to coordinate and ensure accurate bidding documents.
- Monitor design scope for changes affecting budget and schedule; inform the customer of progress and technical issues / solutions and their impact on design and costs.
- Support the prequalification and bidding processes by researching, retrieving, and validating information and documents; prepare materials to meet customer requests.
- Assist with coordination and management of customer data in the company CRM; keep contact details up to date and generate reports.
- Manage other estimators and work with project managers on bids, proposals, and client interactions.
- Perform other duties or locations as assigned by management.
Minimum Qualifications
Understanding of value engineering and working knowledge of electrical codes, building codes, and standards.Proficient in Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, Viewpoint, and Accubid.Exceptional organizational and project / program management skills.Ability to translate technical information into clear, compelling written documents.Strong attention to detail; ability to balance workload and meet deadlines.Self-reliant multi-tasker with strong communication skills, both verbal and written.Ability to work independently and analyze a variety of questions or problems; professional, positive, and dependable attitude.Effective multitasking, time management, and negotiation skills.Ability to interact with all levels of management and clients with an outgoing, energetic personality.Junior College / Technical / Vocational school education or equivalent experience in construction, business development, or marketing; proven track record in electrical / construction estimation.Benefits

Work Schedule
This is a full-time position with a typical schedule of Monday - Thursday 7 : 00am - 4 : 30pm and Friday 7 : 00am - 2 : 00pm.
