TITLE : Family Resources Center Site Coordinator (12 months)
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT : Established by the Board of Education
SALARY : Local 884, Range 8 ($48,362 - $52,606)
QUALIFICATIONS : Bachelor's Degree required; Master's degree preferred. At least three years experience in early childhood education, and three years in an administrative support position with responsibility for staff supervision, data collection, report writing, or a combination of education and five years experience working with parents in a community based setting, Proficiency in computers including word processing, database management and spreadsheet software desired.
Individual should also possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple management tasks, and the ability to interpret policies, plans and objectives and to communicate them to staff.
Candidate must have a good working knowledge of social service and health resources in The Greater New Haven Area. Bi-Lingual Fluency a Plus (English / Spanish).
JOB GOAL : To implement the seven components of the Family Resource Center Initiative; To ensure that residents and parents are engaged in the Family Resource Center, To Coordinate the provision of support to families and the dissemination of child development information to parents.
REPORTS TO : Family Resource Center Program Administrator and Principal
EVALUATION : Performance evaluation in accordance with the provisions of the Board of Education's policy on evaluation of management personnel.
PERFORMANCE RESPPONSIBILITIES :
- Implement the seven components of the Family Resource Center grant.
- Participate in the School Planning and Management Team (S.P.M.T.) and the Mental Health Team (M.H.T.) as a regular member.
- Compile monthly reports.
- Facilitate Advisory Committee meetings on a monthly basis.
- Chair program planning meetings.
- Coordinate Parent / family training sessions.
- Conduct Family Educator Staff meetings.
- Coordinate the delivery of family support services.
- Supervise Family Resource Center staff, student interns and volunteers.
- Coordinate before and after school programs.
- Work closely with community human service provider's to facilitate resident access to social service delivery system.
- Plan, develop and implement in service training for FRC staff.
- Serve as resource person to staff and parents to provide supplemental services to families and children.
- Provide advocacy for social services that are unavailable to FRC families and facilitate the development partnerships with other agencies to deliver those services.
- Maintain appropriate record-keeping system.
- Other duties as assigned.
