Summary :
The Registered Nurse Clinical Educator II (RNCE) will assess, plan,
coordinate, implement and evaluate the clinical opportunities and strategies
for improving delivery of diabetic patient care and staff education regarding
such. The RNCE will act as a liaison with all multi disciplinary departments
and services concerning diabetes education. The RNCE will develop and provide
diabetes education for patients and their families on an inpatient and
outpatient basis as directed.
CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Hospital - Medical Center (CSRH-MC), located in the South
Texas Medical Center, provides a high-level of care through compassionate
hands, experience physicians, and advanced technology, including the da Vinci
Surgical Robot System and the Mako™ Robotic-Arm Assisted System. Services at
the 178- bed facility include Acute Care of the Elderly Unit, cardiology,
diabetes care, emergency care, general surgery, kidney transplantation at the
CHRISTUS Transplant Institute, orthopedics, outpatient rehabilitation and
aquatic therapy, Senior Behavioral Health Center, urology, and the Wound Care
and Hyperbaric Center.

- Graduate of an accredited RN program required
- BSN preferred
- Bilingual (EnglishSpanish) preferred
Experience
- Minimum of three years clinical RN experience required
- Minimum of three years experience managing the care of patients with both Type 1 and Type 2 Diabetes
- Familiarity with insulin pumps preferred
Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications
- Current Texas RN license required
- Certified Diabetic Educator (CDE) preferred. If not CDE at time of hire, successful completion of CDE exam within 2 years of hiretransfer date is required to remain in position Current BLS certification required American Heart Association
