Requirements :
- Commutable to north Atlanta, GA or willing to relocate
- Technical certificate in an electrical or mechanical related field
- 3-5+ years of High Voltage Substations and equipment (>
69kV), doing field assignments, erection, testing and repair.
- Experience working with Power Utilities
- Knowledge of operating test equipment, such as CB timers, power factor, TTR, conductor, CT testers, Megger.
- Proven leadership experience coordinating and leading crews on electrical projects installation.
- Reading of electrical drawings and schematics
- Bachelors’ degree in electrical or mechanical engineering preferred, but not required.
- Familiarity with Windows applications
Responsibilities :
- Perform field service operations that present usual or unusual problems requiring solid technical skills
- Execute or supervise the installation and commissioning of high voltage substation equipment (69kV through 550kV)
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on High Voltage equipment
- Troubleshoot and repair equipment, applying own knowledge and experience.
- Perform and document field tests such as electrical tests, SF6 leak detection, gas analysis, timing, power factor, contact resistance.
- Supervise electricians and contractors
- Compile and evaluate data to determine and resolve operating problems or malfunctions.
- Conduct inspections to determine necessary maintenance and repairs and assist in determining resource requirements.
- Develop recommendations and prepare written reports.
- Maintain detailed records and logs.
- Recommend changes such as new equipment or modified procedures to improve performance and customer satisfaction.
