Bartenders work to serve curated beverages to guests. They will also assist in all aspects of FOH, including running food and drink, clearing tables, and greeting guests.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Arrive to work every day with a positive attitude, a willingness to learn, & prepared for the shift.
- Know the table numbers and position numbers in all sections of the restaurant.
- Have a complete knowledge of our house classic cocktails. This includes but is not limited to cocktail specs & ingredients, brands, flavor profiles of each ingredient & the cocktail as a whole, & any possible allergens.
- Set up bar station in a timely manner, working alongside coworkers to make sure that the mise en place is always set to standard & ready for a busy afternoon of service.
- Serve alcoholic beverages only to guests over 21 years of age. Check ID’s every time, without exception. Get your manager involved if needed.
- Control the amount of alcohol served, so that guests do not become over-intoxicated.
- Know and execute the service expectations outlined in the service manual.
- Respect the Bar Lab.
- Help to promote a safe and clean environment for co-workers, and guests. Maintain the ABK mantra.
- Treat all areas of the building with respect. Clean & reset to zero when necessary.
- Maintain complete knowledge of products and specifications. This includes ingredients, descriptions, sourcing, brands, allergens, etc.
- Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of our POS’ operation.
- Use heightened awareness on any allergy table, and work to code according to our allergy standards.
- Check in with any staff working in your respective space upon arrival. See if you can help before beginning your assigned duties.
- Perform bar maintenance throughout the shift, including crumbing, keeping waters full, clearing & resetting serving ware etc.
- Report all guest complaints to management immediately and follow our five steps for navigating guest complaints. Every negative comment / experience will be addressed by a manager so that no customer leaves unhappy.
- Build relationships with regular guests; and maintain good relations with our neighborhood and industry community members.
- Comply with sanitation standards and procedures according to health and legal regulations.
- Complete weekly cleaning duties, in addition to opening and closing duties.
- Maintain a reasonable response time for all Slack communication : a minimum of an answer to any correspondence before your next shift.
- Handle gift certificate transactions, fill out all pertinent documentation, and present to the guest.
- Maintain a reasonable schedule with flexible availability, including early mornings or late nights, holidays, and time for all staff meetings and tastings.
- Ask for help when you need it. Asking for help is a sign of strength, not a sign of weakness
- Take regular bar tests & quizzes, including a monthly Time Trial, that encourage personal & professional growth & development.
- Focus on always continuing your education and into all facets of our operations, be it the Bar, Kitchen, Service, Coffee, and Tea programs.
- The employee is responsible for getting a shift covered if they cannot report to a scheduled shift (apart from sick reasons).
If they cannot report to a shift and have exhausted all options for coverage, they must contact their supervisor to problem solve no less than 8 hours prior to their scheduled in time.
- Act in a professional manner and represent Gin & Luck graciously whether you are in house, traveling, or at another local establishment.
- Assist in training new hires by guiding them through training trails, answering their questions, providing workflow advice, and teaching them G&L's expectations, steps of service steps, and standards operating procedures.

Reporting Structure
- Bartender reports to General Managers, Floor Managers, Head Bartenders, Leads, Executive Sous Chefs, & Beverage Director.
- The Bartender works in tandem with other bartenders and barbacks.
Compensation and Benefits
- $xx / hr plus a point percentage of the full house tip pool, based on hours worked per shift.

Physical Demands
The physical demands for this position are seeing, hearing, speaking, reaching, frequently lifting up to 25 pounds, occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds, sitting, standing, for 4 to 8 hours, bending, and moving intermittently during working hours.
