Salary : $230k-$280k p / a + Bonuses + Equity + Benefits

About the Job :
As the Vice President of Engineering, you will be leading and shaping a dynamic engineering organisation, contributing to our client's mission of providing cutting-edge solutions in information intelligence.
This role will be part of the Senior Leadership Team and will report directly into the CTO.
What will you be doing :
- Lead the engineering organisation.
- Work with the CTO and Enterprise Architect to continuously refine the technology roadmap to achieve the company goals.
- Continuously improve a high-performance engineering culture fostering innovation, security, and quality.
- Drive the execution and delivery of product engineering initiatives, ensuring they meet the requirements, timelines, and standards of excellence.
- Manage the product engineering budget, headcount, and hiring plans, and optimise the allocation and utilisation of engineering resources.
- Recruit, hire and retain high-quality engineering managers and technology leads.
- Provide clear feedback and opportunities for the continuous improvement of the team.
- Work with stakeholders from product and data science to plan, prioritise, and enhance overall delivery processes.
- Remove technological roadblocks stalling key projects and products.
- Help teams set and achieve their OKRs.
- Capture metrics relevant to the engineering organisation to enable data-driven decision-making.
- Continuously assess risks and develop effective risk mitigation strategies.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and processes, fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation within the team.
Experience that you need :
- Proven experience as a technical leader with a background in software engineering.
- Strong understanding of AI and machine learning technologies.
- Demonstrated success in leading large (20+) cross-functional teams, including Data Scientists, ML Ops Engineers, Platform Engineers, and Software Engineers.
- Experience with agile development methodologies.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to align technical strategies with client's Corp's business objectives.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Bachelor's or advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Desirable Requirements :
- Experience in delivering multi-tenant SaaS applications.
- Experience in the Defence, Security, and Intelligence domains.
- Existing government security clearance (SC) or willingness to obtain it.
- Experience supporting a consulting function.
