We are looking for talented individuals to join us for an internship in 2025. Internships at TikTok aim to offer students industry exposure and hands-on experience.

This Internship Program runs for 12 weeks beginning in May / June 2025. Successful candidates must be able to commit to one of the following summer internship start dates below : Monday, May 12Monday, May 19Tuesday May 27 (Memorial Day May 26)Monday, June 9Monday, June 23 We will prioritize candidates who are able to commit to these start dates.

As an intern on our privacy project, you will work on a critical initiative that contributes to TikTok's privacy and data security needs.

This internship offers opportunities for growth, learning, and collaboration across teams. We seek versatile interns who are eager to learn, display leadership qualities, and enthusiastically solve challenges across the full stack as we push technology forward.

With guidance from your mentors, you will help manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables. You will participate in the development, testing, deployment, maintenance, and enhancement of software solutions.

You may also have opportunities to collaborate with an offshore team. Responsibilities : 1. Assist in the development and optimization of the privacy protection and data security platform.

2. Contribute to the productization of privacy solutions, including algorithms, security toolkits, and workflows, aimed at mitigating security risks.

3. Research cutting-edge privacy solutions and technologies, exploring how they can help address existing privacy challenges.

4. Support the ongoing evolution of the architecture by contributing ideas and performing small-scale implementations.5. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.

Minimum Qualifications1. Proficient in at least one mainstream programming language (., C++, Java, Golang) with a basic understanding of its ecosystem.

Solid understanding of object-oriented programming principles.2. Familiar with basic design and architectural patterns, as well as fundamental principles behind scalable applications.

Some experience or coursework in UML modeling is a plus.3. Basic familiarity with classic mainstream databases (., MySQL, Redis, MongoDB, HBase, Hive) and messaging systems such as Kafka or RocketMQ.

4. Must obtain work authorization in country of employment at the time of hire, and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment.

5. Able to commit to working for 12 weeks during Summer 2025; Preferred Qualifications 1. Graduating December 2025 onwards with the intent to return to degree program after the completion of the internship.

2. Familiarity with microservice architecture is a plus, but not required.3. Any experience or coursework in data tagging, access control, code lineage tracing, or data governance is a bonus.

4. Experience or interest in cross-cultural communication and teamwork.
